Bought a 2015 Jetta from Gold Key in January. Love the car! Great service from Joe throughout the process. Highly recommended!
Derek was friendly and prompt throughout a process that started on email and ended in the showroom. Although I didn't end up purchasing the VW as the trim level I wanted was unavailable at the time and I needed a vehicle, the visit, walkthrough and test drive was one of those pleasant ones you rarely see at dealerships. The quote provided was also fantastic especially given a new vehicle where everyone has barely any stock. Highly recommended.
Derek Slobodian was highly communicative, and gave me a great deal at the very outset for the 2015 Golf. A great car, wonderful service...what more do I want!
My car buying experience with Raj, Justin and Jason was by far the best car buying experience I have ever received. Raj and Justin worked 3 days (including their days off) to work the financing to fit my budget and bring down my interest rate that I previously had with another dealership on a 2022 I got just 2 months prior! I am amazed on what Raj was able to do for my loan, interest and put me into a 2024 VW Taos Highline. Sure is an upgrade for me and my 3 kids from a small Sedan. We are all extremely happy with this vehicle. Justin was so patient and kind showing me the car features and all this vehicle can do. Sure I didn't retain much at the time but it was easy to figure out on my own afterward. They sold me a car at a great price with all the extras I wanted!!!!!
Jason was easy and friendly to deal with when I signed the loan contract and explained to me what I can do to make my credit better for refinancing in the future.
The follow up call from Raj to ensure I was happy made the experience just that much better.
Sad I gotta share the gorgeous Gold Key VW tumblers that I got from them with my son. LOL
Since I purchased my car in July of 2024, having to come back to the dealership more than a few times, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Today I asked for the manager as I was not given adequate information from the service department and, John said that was he was the manager. Explained what happened. He said ‘you have to contact the service department tomorrow.’ I said you are the manager and he then clarified that he was the sales manager. Any decent manager would have noted the issue and taken it to the right place. His attitude was” it wasn’t his problem.”
It appeared that he is used to his way or the highway and I asked the receptionist if there was a VW Canada I could contact and he bellowed that ‘I could Google it.’ What a prize he is.
The people there are super kind and nice.
However I am disappointed with Gold Key Volkswagen regarding the brake system issue in my Taos. The dealership refuses to acknowledge the problem of premature brake pad wear after just 14 K km and does not offer the ceramic-coated pad alternative, leaving customers paying around $800 plus tax for premature replacements, every year or so.
I urge potential buyers to research online before purchasing a Taos to avoid similar issues.
I had some recall work to get done, and had them do an oil change while I was there. I left the dealership and heard something scraping on the ground. Turns out my splash guard under the engine was hanging on by two screws. I called to get it replaced and they were very reluctant to fix it for me, and were accusing me of having hit something to cause this issue, after driving 10km home from the dealership.
I was dealing with Sherry and the service manager, and both were extremely rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend anybody using this dealership, even for a simple oil change. If you have any VW work needed, I recommend PG performance, quality work from people who know what they are doing.
I dropped off my vehicle on Tuesday morning before my scheduled appointment. At the end of the day, my “advisor” informed me that they couldn’t find any issues but would keep my car overnight for further investigation.
On Wednesday, the advisor called to say they had found a problem (great!). However, around 4 PM, he informed me that my car was ready for pickup—despite the issue not being fixed. Mind you, my car randomly shuts off while driving. I questioned how my vehicle could be ready if nothing had been resolved. I explained my concern that my car is currently unsafe and unreliable to drive.
He responded by saying the vehicle was still “drivable.” I then requested a courtesy vehicle or rental until the necessary parts arrived and the repairs could be completed. He claimed there were no courtesy cars or rentals available and then went on about how I didn’t have much warranty left (that seems to be his major concern) completely irrelevant to the immediate concern.
Not once did this advisor express concern for my safety or take steps to help resolve the situation.
This dealership clearly does not care about customer safety. They’re willing to let you drive away in a vehicle that randomly shuts off. I highly recommend going to a different dealership!!
I purchased a Volkswagen from here and had an outstanding experience. The sales team was very knowledgeable and helpful when guiding ne through their models and different features without any pressure. They patiently answered any questions and helped find the car suitable for my needs.
The whole process starting from test drive to financing was very efficient. The finance department was transparent and worked hard to meet my needs. I really appreciate their honesty and devotion to a customers satisfaction.
I absolutely recommend this dealership to anyone who's looking to purchase a car. Their outstanding service and friendly staff and altogether commitment in prioritizing their customers really make them special. I'm overall grateful for the experience I had here.
Avoid VW – Learn from My Mistake
I bought a brand new VW Taos about two years ago, and it’s been nothing but a nightmare.
The salesperson misled me, costing me over $1,000 — VW or this branch refused to take any responsibility.
Later, the Taos developed a radiator leak. VW had no replacement parts available in entire Canada. No ETA. No loaner. I was left without a car for over six weeks, and the final repair cost me nearly $2,000.
Their customer service was useless. No help, no accountability, and no communication. It honestly felt like they didn’t care at all.
Think twice before buying or servicing with VW. I wish I had.

In September 2024 I got my very first car, a 2024 Volkswagen Taos Highline! Gold Key VW was the gold standard for customer care, down to the littlest details. Just really good and respectful people.
We received great pricing and a phenomenal package for the car including crossbars, rails and mats for the entire car.
Anish and Jason made the pick up experience so special! The car was ready for me with a bow on it and we were kindly given sparkling waters and VW tumblers. Anish Took photos for me and also showed me how to use the car systems.
The overall experience was so very memorable!
My car has been such pleasure to drive for the past 7 months, no issues at all.
Thank you!!
I am so happy with their work whenever I take my car in. Great customer service and friendly staff. Always a pleasant experience.
Had a great experience purchasing my new vehicle. No pressure sales staff, very polite and courteous. I would recommend.
Derek and the rest of the team were very helpful and made sure my warranty was applied to the repairs necessary. I had a great and professional experience with them and would recommend them highly!
Sold me a used vehicle that was unfit for the road.
I purchased a used truck in May 2020. It came to Goldkey Volkswagen on trade in. I dealt with Chris, the sales manager. After signing the papers, he told me that the previous owner still had the second key fob and that he would get it to me the following week. Not disclosing that up front was unprofessional. He said he was going to deliver the key to me but I ended up going back to the dealership because the times he offered did not work for my schedule. Before buying, I asked him if there were any issues with the truck and he said “We have our service department inspect all used vehicles to ensure that they are fit for the road, otherwise we could be liable.” Two months later I was issued a mandatory vehicle inspection by a police officer. He said he pulled me over because my truck wasn’t in compliance with the motor vehicle act. I was not pulled over for any traffic violations and was not given any fine. I contacted Chris to ask him why this would happen after what he said about ensuring their used vehicles are ready for the road. He said that Goldkey does not have a policy where they cover me for anything after the sale is complete. I asked him to please discuss with the senior sales manager and give me a call back. He agreed to call me back that day or the next day. He did not call me back the next day, so I called him the following day. He told me that the VW service department could do the inspection and he would cover the cost (30 mins of labor), but nothing else. After the inspector saw my truck exactly as it was sold to me, I was told that I need to either get an entire set of new wheels and tires ($1500+) or add fender flares and mud flaps to the truck ($700+). Service quoted me $70 to remove the window tint, but I did it myself in 15 minutes. I ended up buying a used set of wheels for $900. Rather than owning up to what was clearly an oversight, Chris acted as though I was being unreasonable for contacting him. I wasn’t expecting that much, but it would have been nice if he tried to work with me. For instance, he could have covered the window tint removal, called me back when he said he would or actually talk to me in person rather than avoiding me the three times I had to go back in. I suggest avoiding this dealership
Went Suv shopping with my wife couple weeks ago. They only had one customer in the lot that was being helped. We were the 2nd but no one came and helped us out. No even the sales associate that was helping the other family asked if we needed help, he just walked by. Spend 20 minutes waiting but ended up going next door and got great service and bought a suv from another dealership.
Very happy with the deal and service- great team!
I recently visited the VW stores in Maple Ridge, Abbotsford and Chilliwack looking to buy a new Jetta. I later found out all 3 of these stores are owned by the same person, so I could have saved myself a lot of time as I had the same experience at each. At each of these stores I was quoted prices above what the VW ads were quoting and there was heavy pressure to buy right away.
I decided to give Gold Key a chance, hoping for a better experience than I'd already had. I was not disappointed. Derek the sales guy was awesome and he took the time to show me things on the car that I hadn't learned at the 3 dealers I visited previously. They were willing to negotiate with me on the price, something no one else would do. I would highly recommend these guys! They even gave me a set of free rubber mats as a thank you gift.
