The worst crooks I've ever seen, and God knows I've dealt with my fair share of dealerships. I went three times. The first time, my Outback was misfiring. I'd already had some work done. I just told them to analyze the problem. They spent an hour checking the battery and OBD2 errors, charged me, and told me the engine was shot and they had to take it apart to find out more. Estimated repair: $5,000. I told them to change the position sensor cable, which costs $90 at Subaru Jobs Ontario. They sold me the part for almost $300, and the problem was fixed in two hours at $150/hour and a $90 part for $300, and I was the one who gave the answer. The second time, the same thing happened; I had an oil leak, and they gave me another estimate. $3000 with a made-up list of problems that ultimately turned out to be an oil leak, which I had replaced at another garage for $250, parts, labor, and diagnostics. Last time, for alignment and to replace the B bushing on the control arm, which in the worst-case scenario takes 40 minutes. They called me back to say they couldn't do it because the tie rod was worn out, which I had replaced two years ago, and they quoted me an additional $400. I refused because it's a 30-minute job plus parts that sell for $75, but they charge $250. I live in Rimouski, and many people prefer to buy their cars more than 100 km away in Rivière-du-Loup. Now that's where I'll buy my new Subaru. And I'm told they offer honest service, are less expensive, and don't feel ripped off. I would have preferred to give zero stars instead of one.
I see excellent reviews here, but they're all in English, so I assume they're fake because I find it hard to believe that it's just English people doing business with them in a city that's 90% French-speaking.
This review is for Ian, the assistant sales manager, the person I had the pleasure of speaking with and arranging the trade-in of my Corolla for a beautiful Outback! His service was simply exemplary. If he wasn't sure about any information or one of my questions, he didn't hesitate to ask someone else. He was honest, transparent, incredibly patient, and communicated very well via text message (a big plus for people like me who don't like talking on their cell phones).
Being a rally enthusiast like myself (more so than me, honestly, but it's really refreshing to talk to a salesperson who actually knows the cars they're selling) immediately put me at ease.
I have nothing but praise. Thank you so much for the Outback, and you can be sure I'll be recommending Formule Subaru Rimouski first if anyone ever talks to me about buying a car! I went there for an oil change. I had my dog with me. I asked if there was a shady spot outside to sit. The young man at the service desk told me I could wait with my dog in the waiting room.
A big plus for me, as I wasn't supposed to have my dog with me in the first place. She really enjoyed the petting from the employees. And for me, the excellent service.
This has not always been the case at Subaru Formula but my last visits to this dealership have lived up to my expectations.
Technical advisor:
The advisor was attentive, professional and courteous. He knew how to interpret my request in relation to the anomalies encountered on my vehicle. He also showed himself to be skillful and qualified (nothing to do with his somewhat haughty and "smug" predecessor... almost contemptuous).
Technician:
The technician seemed interested and highly competent. He came to pick me up in the air of expectation so that we could validate together the issues related to the problems raised. He was attentive and gave me the happy impression that he was really concerned about the problems raised and that he was determined to give me satisfaction. He also shared his conclusions with me as well as possible solutions. It's quite unusual in our time, but so appreciated!
Parts Clerk:
The parts clerks are knowledgeable and have a good command of Subaru products. We don't need to explain for 10 minutes the part we need. Often, you don't even need the vehicle's serial number! They know exactly which part it is. Eric and Tommy are also quite "tight" in this area. That’s precious!
That said, even if I have not always been very satisfied with the services offered by this merchant, it seems that in recent years Subaru Formula has surrounded itself with better quality and more mobilized employees. I hope that these skills will last over time and will always ensure this level of quality in terms of service. I don't know how you did it, but please stay the course!
Very bad experience regarding the replacement of the windshield on my 2022 Subaru Outback. The manufacturer's warranty stipulates that if there are no external signs of fracture, replacement of the windshield will be at the manufacturer's expense. At the beginning of January, first inspection carried out by the clerk and his supervisor who declared that there was no apparent sign of an external factor which caused the breakage of the windshield, so I would be given an appointment when the part was received. 1 month later, having not received any news, the clerk informed me that the policy had changed and that photos were necessary for consultation with the manufacturer. I checked and still no trace of external impact before my photo appointment today. After an hour of waiting I was informed that there would be a trace of impact not visible during the first inspection, so I must pay to have it replaced. I don't think I'll go back to this dealership, I've lost confidence.

Bought our "new to us" car from sales agent Danielle. Great personal service and perfect communication though different first languages spoken. Only downside was we nearly ran out of gas but caught it with 7km left to empty. Just an oversight as we got got caught up in conversation.

Malentendu ou quelque chose à cacher ? Dans le processus d'achat d'un véhicule d'occasion chez ce concessionnaire, il avait été convenu qu'une inspection préachat de 150 points serait effectuée à mes frais. Après 3 jours d'attente, on m'informe que seule une inspection 30 points a été réalisée "car c'est uniquement ça qu'ils font sur des véhicules d'occasion". En prime, on a appris une usure marquée de certaines composantes (freins) comparativement à leur 1re inspection. Je me suis désisté du processus d'achat.
